Debbie O’Halloran, CHIEF Writer

Hello. My name is Debbie O’Halloran, and I am the founder and head writer at Webwriter.ie, the professional web content writing service.

While I have experience writing in many formats, I specialise in writing for the web. A web content expert, I have worked in online publishing for the past ten years. I have an expert knowledge of the online medium and how to write for it.

I was Editor-in-Chief of IrishJobs.ie, Ireland’s top recruitment website, for seven years. I also produced the editorial content on their sister sites: NIjobs.com, CaribbeanJobs.com, MyWelshJobs.com,ScottishJobs.com, RecruitGulf.comand CandidateManager.net.

After leaving IrishJobs.ie, I worked as Digital Content Manager at LoadzaJobs.ie where I was responsible for the digital content of a number of ground-breaking websites including Supporting Careers and Jobsfair.ie.

Since setting up Webwriter, I have written web content for a perse range of clients from start-up businesses to small-to-medium size enterprises. My experience has spanned a broad range of industries including tourism, the arts, hospitality, construction, charity, healthcare, property, entertainment, retail and the professional services.

I was commissioned by Enable Ireland to write a guide for employers on assistive technologies (AT) for the workplace. The only guide of its kind in Ireland, IrishJobs.ie scooped an O2 Ability Award for my work. The guide (Assistive Technology in the Workplace: A guide for Employers) is also available to download online from a number of websites.

An experienced print journalist as well, my articles have been published in The Star, The Examiner, Social & Personal and U.

I have a Degree in English and Sociology & Politics from NUI Galway and a BA in Journalism from Dublin City University.
